There are no tours as such at this writing, but Mark will perform at two Kerouac festivals in October, 2012. One's in Quebec City, and the other in Lowell, MA.
There is also a homage to Mark at the Blue Note in NYC on Mon May 21, featuring many guests, and Mark too will perform.

It's not just about intellect. Mark's depth is recognized by acknowledging something that contemporary philosopher, Eckhart Tolle, once said, "There is only ONE purpose to life...and that is to awaken." That is exactly what Mark's amazing voice does...it awakens.
Mark, I have smiled, gasped and cried to your music for 30 + years. Please your precious soul. I have recently introduced you to my girlfriend. She loves you too! I have tried, in vain, to find a CD of "Bop for Kerouac." If anyone knows where a copy - if it exists - can be found, please advise.

Every so often you can find used cd copies of "Bop for Kerouac" at Amazon.com. However, they may be costly.
I live in Lowell Mass. Biethplace o Jack Keroac it would be great if Mark could be here in October for the Lowell Celibrates Keroac Fest.

When is the annual tribute to Mark at Yoshi's in Oakland? Will he attend again this year?
I live in Toronto and have gotten tickets to see Mark @ The Old Mill on October 1st. Now I find out I'm going to New York and will miss the show!
Will there be any concerts in NYC from Oct 1-11th? I tried to find a concert schedule online but nothing came up.
This is very disappointing and I'm sorry I'll miss him.

Featured will be a limited edition audiophile LP and digital download.
A 4-song EP, the recording was made in Cape May, New Jersey in November 2012. It features the master vocalist supported by pianist Alex Minasian, bassist Curtis Lundy, drummer Steve Williams, and a very special guest TBA.
Entitled "A Beautiful Friendship: Remembering Shirley Horn," this EP demonstrates that even into his ninth decade, Mark Murphy, described by Jamie Cullum as "the world's greatest living jazz singer" still has the goods.

Hi to Mark from Johnathan Welling, personal event mgr for Marilyn King of King Sisters now passed upon Aug 7 at age 82. She always treasured seeing Mark at LA Jazz Bakery, remarking at the amazement of Mark's Showmanship and performance. Very rare for her to be moved to favorable comment espec from her wide pro experiences of Jazz and theatre. It was a privilege to do the LA scene parties after MM events. Mark is currently taking a hiatus from performing gigs. However, if this changes, I'll make sure info on any new gigs are posted here on the blog, as well as on Facebook, where there are currently quite a few Mark Murphy fan groups.
